Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem, saying “where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.” Matthew 2:1-2
The word about Jesus spread far and wide shortly after His birth. In this passage of Scripture, we read that many months after the birth, men traveled great distances to inquire of King Herod where they could find this “King of the Jews.”
To seek the Messiah shows true wisdom. The magi are remembered as wise men because they sought Jesus. It is still a wise person who takes the time and makes the effort to find Christ in Christmas.
