Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who has blessed us with every Spiritual blessing
in the heavenly places in Christ.
What if a manager of a large Company offered you a position you were not seeking to apply for. They shared only a description of an open position and told you that this is the job of a lifetime. It is the perfect job for you. Therefore, you should apply because it has every benefit you could ever ask for! Would you apply for the position, based only on what you have been told? Or, just because the manager knows what you are capable of ? However, it’s more than that. It’s knowing the details that gives you the assurance that this is the job for you.
In today’s passage the apostle Paul wrote a statement in Ephesians 1, (similar to the manager of this large company). He wrote that we have been “blessed”….with every spiritual blessing…. In Christ.” This means that in Christ we have all the benefits of knowing God (verse 3). That should cover it, right? What more do we really need to know? Praise God Paul went on to give us several of those blessings for our comfort. Let’s take a look (for starters): We are Chosen.
Before the foundation of the world. Why? To be holy and blameless in love before Him. (verse 4) God created us for Himself. He predestined us to be Adopted (verse 5), Accepted, to the praise of His glorious grace that He lavished on us in the Beloved One.(verse 6) Redeemed, In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our sins according to the riches of His grace that He richly poured out on us with all wisdom and understanding. (verses 7-8). Enlightened (verse 8-9) given an Inheritance (verses 11), Sealed (verse 13) and Secured (verse 14)
The Holy Spirit is the down payment of our inheritance, until the redemption of the possession, to the praise of His glory.
Are you feeling Greatly Blessed today? You should because you are blessed with Every Spiritual Blessing in Christ.
