One evening after going to bed exhausted with many things on my mind, I woke up the next morning feeling refreshed and blessed! I thanked the Lord as I do each morning for the opportunity to be part of a brand New Day that He alone has given me.
But this particular morning the Lord spoke to my heart❤️ God reminded me of the empty sign off signature that I often used “Blessings.” A word that I have learned to tag onto every, text, every card and every email had suddenly loss its meaning in my life! A truth that I’d learned to embrace so many years ago had somehow diminished in my life.
I sat in bed during the early dawn reflecting and listening to the birds it was cold and there was a slight breeze outside as I watched the leaves on trees move back and forth some held on while many dropped to the ground. It was at that moment that I could do no other than Repent for a heart that had grown cold to the many blessings that I enjoy each day..
The first time the word blessings (in the plural) occurs in the Bible is in
Genesis 49:25; some 5 times, (depending on the translation). Seen where Jacob prophesied God’s blessings for his son, Joseph- “Blessings of heaven above
blessings of the deep that lies beneath, blessings of the breasts and of the womb.
God’s blessings are incomprehensible, when God created the world He created in it, millions of blessings for us to enjoy daily. I might add by day and by night. As God created, He had you in mind.. the stars that come out at night some large some small, the warmth of the sun and the moon at night.. the wind that blows and the rain that falls, plants that grow, flowers that bloom. Herbs to smell, trips to take, clothes to wear and prayers of thanksgiving to offer up. Thousands of types I might add. Let’s look at Family and Friends that care and as we live life we come across strangers who care. There are books to read, dogs to love, music to up lift our spirits and encourage us..
Many could certainly add to this short list. But the point is that we are blessed everyday all day long… Each gift is a separate gift from God. His blessings are gifts to us and they can Never run out as is His Word the supply endures forever!
Praising God for His many inexhaustible blessings and for the gentle reminder that was given to me this morning.
