It’s Never Too Late John 3:16

                                         It’s Never Too Late

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.                                                                            John 3:16-17

This single verse tells more about God and His plan for this world than any other verse in the Bible.  God gave the most extravagant thing He could to demonstrate His love for lost humankind, sending His only begotten Son to pay the debt for Sin (Romans 5:8:  2 Corinthians 5:21: Ephesians 2:4:  1John 4:9).

When Jesus hung on the cross, there were two thieves hanging beside him. Both of them were at the end of their lives, but only one of them saw something different in Jesus.  As he hung in his final moments of life, he asked Jesus for grace and a second chance. ( Matthew 27:38-44, Luke 23:39-43).   It didn’t matter that he didn’t have long to live. Despite the circumstances, Jesus responded with love and mercy. That thief was given forgiveness and eternal life minutes before his death.

His life may have been marked by crime and regret, but he was still forgiven and promised eternal life. The very same day he entered paradise as a forgiven man. His simple and profound faith saved him. His story is a powerful reminder that no matter where we are or how far we’ve fallen, It’s Never Too Late to turn to Jesus. There is nothing in our lives that cannot be redeemed.

Today, you might have regrets in your life that you wish you could take back. There might be moments or situations that you aren’t proud of. Maybe you lay awake at night and remember you’re past choices, or maybe you feel trapped by messes of your own making. Think about the thief on the cross and remember that God’s grace is always available to you. He isn’t tallying up your mistakes, waiting for you to reach a threshold that is beyond his ability to redeem you. His arms are always open, and he is eager to show you mercy.

There is always hope in Jesus. The God you serve is the God of Second Chances. His love has No End, and his Grace has No Bounds. It is never too late for you to follow Him, start anew, and experience the transformation that he alone can bring. Your heavenly Father longs to be gracious to you no matter where you are or what you’ve done.

If you have wondered how to become a Christian, it is as simple as receiving a gift.  Your part is to reach out and accept it.  Tell God you would like to accept His gift by praying such as the following.

Lord Jesus, I’m like everyone else- I can’t make it though life on my own.  I’m imperfect and realize that I am a sinner.  I ask you this day to forgive me of all my sins.  I accept Your free gift of Salvation.  I know that from this moment on I’m a child of God.  Help me God to now live for you. In Jesus Name I pray Amen.
