If you suffer from, Stress, Anxiety or Worry there is a permanent, cure for you! The advertisements on TV are alluring. But there is no true guarantee. And even so, after one hears of all the serious health condition one might be left with… why would someone want to use it. Promises of natural cures for stress flood the air waves almost daily. So why are the emergency rooms and doctors’ offices overflowing with patients complaining symptoms that are stress related? Causing numerous physical and emotional conditions, stress is the complaint of our day. But stress is not a modern-day phenomenon. The Jews of Jesus’ day also experienced burnout. Frantically, they worked in vain to meet the demands of the hypocritical scribes. Jesus saw the Jews struggling under the weight of that oppressive system and entreated them to come to Him and receive His rest. Those who responded felt the weight of their sin removed, and they experienced the promise of a new life and future. Jesus’ invitation calls out to us today. Are you burdened by unconfessed sin? Weary from responsibility, monotony, anxiety? Few things in life come with guarantees. Accept the lifetime guarantee that Jesus offers you now: “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
Peace is the end result of the Holy Spirit’s work in our lives, resulting in a deep and lasting peace. Unlike worldly peace, which is usually defined as the absence of conflict, is peace, is confident assurance in any circumstances; with Christ’s Peace we have no need to fear the present or the future. Sin, fear uncertainly, doubt and numerous other forces are at war within us. The peace of God moves into our hearts and lives to restrain these hostile forces and offer comfort in place to conflict. Jesus says he will give us that peace if we are willing to accept it from him. Lets’ Reflect
Context of Christ’s peace: Faithfully believing that He is the son of God.
Confidence of His peace: Full trust that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are all actively at work and in complete control.
Contrast of His peace: Unlike the worldly version, Christ’s peace does not involve any fear.
Condition of His peace: Jesus’ death burial, resurrection, and ascension. Without these events, true peace would not be possible.
