When God Doesn’t Change Your Circumstances

Have you ever felt so overwhelmed with the Pain and Hurt that has left you perplexed? Your heart has grown hard from the years of pain, hurt and feelings of being inadequate, in the eyes of others. Perhaps because those whom you love have distanced themselves from you. Have you ever felt in those times in which you are in their presence the conversation seems to lead to you being silent. It’s almost as though someone has placed a muzzle over your mouth, while devaluing everything that you have to say. Are you feeling that life is seemingly unfair? You begin questioning your walk with the Lord, and who you are in Christ Jesus. What did I not learn in my walk with the Lord? What happened and how did I end up in such a hard place? We pray for a conclusion; we await another outcome; and we long for an answer to the questions left unresolved. We often find ourselves in the middle of what God is showing us. Do you feel that your prayers have gone unanswered ; you’ve prayed and prayed for God to draw a loved one back to Him. Maybe you’ve been praying for the Lord to save a loved one or change a circumstance in your life that has left you feeling like the breath has just been sucked out of your body. Perhaps it is a daughter or son who is harboring things from the past. Or worst yet an unwillingness to forgive. Just maybe they tell you they forgive you but no longer want you in their life. What do you do? How do you go about processing the hurt and pain? Just how do you cope when the tension is high and there is no answer. These times allow you to acknowledge the emptiness of your hands and your absolute need for God’s help.  It is in these moments where we learn to listen for God’s moment- by- moment instruction as we continue to trust God with what only He alone can change.  Are we willing to welcome everything that comes our way as a step in God’s plan… an assignment to Trust God.  What I tell you in the dark is meant to be shared in the light, (Matthew 10:27). Remember that God is Faithful and that nothing comes to His children without first filtering through the fingers of a loving Father.

Yes, pain is a reality and bitterness a probability, but God always has a better way.  Processing hurt in a healthy manner requires God-given wisdom and the power of the Holy Spirit.

A hardened heart brings bitterness and discontent, harboring these things only serves as poison to our very souls. Let go and Let God, Trust that He will use that difficult thing in your life to change you. God permits difficult things to accomplish something better, beyond the struggles. Our seemingly failures do not disqualify or define us, but serves as opportunities to showcase the very Character of a loving God… to display that truth to others… the Truth to remember is that God’s Perfect Character Orchestrates His Perfect Plan, plans that work out everything in conformity to the Purpose of His Will in order that we are who are chosen will realize that all things truly do work for our good and His Great Glory.. Even the pain and the hurt. Can you trust God to do the work only He can do in the lives of those who’ve hurt you, as He does a work in you? Will you ask God to free your heart from the grip of anger, bitterness or feelings of hopelessness and give you the faith to trust Him? I exhort you to look at God in light of who He is in your life. By faith, we can interpret our lives through the grid of God’s active and unwavering goodness. So, what hard thing in your life needs the true perspective of God’s goodness? Will you choose to believe God is doing something greater than you can understand? Choose to believe it, because He is. God always seeks the greater good, that is for your good and His glory.

If you don’t know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are walking in the dark.  Life may be hard, but it is so much easier walking hand in hand with the One who knows you best.

Know Him today.. By praying this prayer and making it true in your heart. Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. Amen
