Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; And before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the Nations Jeremiah 1:5
The definition of a Masterpiece is the most outstanding piece of work a creative artist. A work of outstanding artistry, skill, or workmanship. Ephesians 2:10, says; For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advanced of us to do. God knew you, as he knew Jeremiah, long before you were born or even conceived. He thought about you and planned for you.
A number of characteristics make up a masterpiece. The first one is a masterpiece is rare-like you. In order for something to be a masterpiece, it can’t exist all over the place. The word “workmanship” means “that which is made, a work of art.” It refers to a “Masterpiece.” What Paul’s saying is that all God’s children are His masterpiece. Another characteristic about a masterpiece is that a masterpiece is special. Again like you, like me. In fact, you are so special that God sent His own Son to live for you, die for you, and rise from the dead for you so you can be all that you were intended to be.
A Masterpiece is also valuable. If someone owns a masterpiece, they paid a great price for it. in fact, most masterpieces are carefully locked away in a secure place, such as a museum, art gallery or perhaps a vault. That seems to speak volumes to the value of a masterpiece. I pray that you understand and know it also speaks volumes about you.
Another characteristic of a masterpiece is that it is named by its creator. The artist or sculptor ascribes a name to his or her creation that reflects its meaning and purpose. You my friend have a name. it is your purpose. Think about this…Your name encompasses the Divine reason for your very existence.
God not only named you but also knows you. A masterpiece is associated with its creator. A masterpiece is rarely known simply by its own name but also by the one who made it… The master of the piece. As a child of God, you are uniquely created by Him. In verse 5, we learn that Jeremiah was “appointed” by God as his “prophet to the nations.” God has a purpose for each Christian, but some people are appointed by God for specific kinds of work. May I say whatever work assigned to you should be done for the glory of God (Philippians 1:11). If God gives you a specific task accept it cheerfully and do it with diligence. If God has not given you a specific call or assignment, then seek to fulfill the mission common to all believers, to love, obey, and serve God. Until His guidance becomes more clear.
Here are 7 Truths Of A Masterpiece
1. A Masterpiece takes time to create. These changes will happen a little at a time.
2. A Masterpiece is very detailed and intricate. Little transformations are not always easy to see, but changes are still being made.
3. A Masterpiece is a one of a kind-no duplicates! We are called God’s unique workmanship, uniquely made by His hands (Psalm 139:14); (Ephesians 2:10).
4. A Masterpiece is often a culmination of an artists’ skill and hard work. As humans we were created on the sixth day of creation and it was only after humans were made that God called His creation “very good”. (Genesis 1)
5. A Masterpiece is precious-extremely valuable- to the artist. (John 3:16), states this: For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Sons that whosoever should believe in Him will not perish but will have everlasting life.
6. The Artist is the one creating the masterpiece (the masterpiece cannot create itself). God is using our experience to encourage us to become more like him in every way ( 2 Corinthians 3:18l Romans 5:3-5).
7. A masterpiece points to the artists’ talents and causes others to be inspired. 2 Corinthians 4, so, beautifully shares how because of salvation we now have the amazing truth of the Holy Spirit in our fragile, human bodies. When we live for Him, we have the honor of allowing others to see God in our lives which inspires, encourages and makes more people aware of God in our lives. Which inspires and encourages others awareness of God’s amazing love for them.
